The forecasted data may have 15 minutes and/or 5 centimetres average errors. The prediction do not consider meteorological factors which nevertheless may have significant effects on tide heights. For instance the water level tends to rise in the direction towards which the wind is blowing (e.g. high waters in Venice during strong sirocco wind). Tide level also rises when the barometer is low and vice versa (e.g. a variation of over 30 hPa can cause a 30 cm difference of the level).
